Washingtonia Filifera
Desert Fan palm tree
What makes this tree stand out is its thick trunk which is even wider at the base. Native to California, its leaves form a larger crown making it more imposing than the Washingtonia robusta. The trees are large and light green and possess lots of whitish threads. A rapid-grower, it likes to be exposed to the sun and requires a well-drained soil. It is so at home with the Mediterrannean climate that it has now become an habitual part of the landscape.
