Florence Cypress tree
The cycas is part of a group of surviving plants that inhabited our planet over 100 million years ago. It is a pre-historic plant originally from tropical zones in Africa and Asia. The Cycas revoluta, which comes from South Japan, can be planted on the Mediterranean coast without any problems. It can be planted in direct sunlight on barren slopes, like agaves and aloes, under the condition that heather is placed at the base of the planting hole.
